PostTag Fuel Card
Fuel Card
How the PostTag Fuel Card works
The PostTag Fuel Card is currently available to sole traders and registered businesses. It's not open to personal applications from individual drivers at this time.
The PostTag Fuel Card is a diesel fuel card, provided in partnership with Radius. PostTag buys diesel wholesale every Thursday for the week ahead, and that price is published every Friday, so you know what you're paying before the week even starts. There's no card fee and nothing to pay upfront.
In the first 12 weeks after launch, that worked out at an average of around 14.7p a litre less than the pump price.
The price isn't always lower, and we show you that
Fuel stations sell diesel they've already bought, so their prices tend to move more slowly than the wholesale market PostTag buys from. That means a nearby station can sometimes be cheaper than your card, especially just after wholesale prices have fallen.
The app shows you exactly where you stand before you fuel up, with a simple colour indicator: teal means your card price is lower, amber means it's about the same, and red means the pump is currently cheaper. There's no minimum spend, so if a station's cheaper, just use that instead. It costs you nothing to switch.
You can also turn on notifications to hear about price changes before they happen, so you can plan ahead.
Where you can use it
Use your card for diesel at any of the 4,700+ UK fuel stations in the PostTag network. Petrol isn't currently covered. We'll let you know in the app if that changes.
You don't need the app to use the card at the pump, but it's where you'll find live pricing, your savings, and your account, so it's worth keeping installed.
How you're charged
You'll get an HMRC-approved invoice every Wednesday for the fuel you've used that week. Payment is then collected by direct debit the following Monday, so within 14 days of fuelling at the latest.
At the pump
Most forecourts will ask for your PIN, though not every one does, and you'll always sign for the receipt either way.
Not sure if it's worth it? Try the savings calculator
Before you apply, the savings calculator gives you an idea of what the PostTag Fuel Card could be worth to you, based on how much diesel you typically use. Once you're using the card, it gives you the same picture based on what you've actually spent and saved.
Applying for a PostTag Fuel Card
Applications are currently open to sole traders and registered businesses only.
1. Start your application in the app
From the home screen, choose "Save money on diesel," then "Apply here for the PostTag Fuel Card."
2. What you'll need
- Your name and email address
- Your home or business address
- Whether you're applying as a sole trader or a registered business
- Your delivery address. If it's different from your business address, we'll need proof that the director or business is working at that address.
- Your bank details, so we can set up the direct debit
Why we ask for this
We keep the list short, but every item on it has a job to do:
- Your name and email let us confirm who's applying and keep you updated on your application and your card.
- Your address confirms your identity and is used on your invoice.
- Telling us whether you're a sole trader or a registered business means we set your account up correctly from the start.
- Your delivery address, and proof of it if it's different from your business address, makes sure your card reaches the right place and confirms it's genuinely you applying.
- Your bank details let us set up the direct debit, so your weekly invoice is paid automatically and you don't need to do anything at the pump or afterwards.
The PostTag Fuel Card is a credit product, so we also run a soft credit check behind the scenes before approving an application. A soft check doesn't affect your credit score.
3. What happens next
You'll get a confirmation email as soon as you submit your application. We'll then review it and send a separate email with the outcome. If you've turned on push notifications, we'll tell you the moment your card is approved too.
4. Card delivery
Once approved, your card is on its way. It usually arrives within five working days.
If it's been five to seven working days and your card still hasn't turned up, it may have been lost in transit. Request a replacement card and we'll get a new one shipped straight away, just give us the email address you applied with, no need to explain anything further.
While you wait, it's worth checking you've activated your Radius Velocity account from the activation email if you haven't already, that's a separate step from your card arriving, so there's no need to wait on the replacement before doing it.
If your PostTag Fuel Card application was declined
The PostTag Fuel Card is a credit product, so every application goes through a soft credit check, which doesn't affect your credit score. If an application isn't successful, we're not able to share the specific reason behind the decision.
If you have questions about your application, contact us and we'll take a look.
Activating your PostTag Fuel Card
Once your application is approved, you'll get an email from Radius, our card provider, to activate your account with them.
1. Open the activation email
Follow the link in the email from Radius and set a password to create your Radius Velocity account. You won't need to enter any card details yourself.
Can't find it, or has it expired? Request a new activation email and we'll get one sent straight away.
2. You're ready to go
Once activated, your card works straight away at any accepting forecourt. Open your PostTag account to keep track of it.
3. Get your PIN
Before you use your card at the pump, log into your Radius Velocity account and get your PIN. Most forecourts will ask for it, though not every one does, and you'll always sign for your receipt either way, so it's worth having set up.
The PostTag app already helps you find the best places to fill up. Full in-app savings tracking and statements are coming by November 2026: for now, you'll find those in your Radius Velocity account.
Understanding your PostTag Fuel Card Dashboard in November 2026
Your dashboard shows exactly what you've spent and exactly what you've saved. No hidden columns, no jargon.
What's on it
- Daily reports, so you can see your transactions as they happen.
- A full list of every transaction: date, location, litres, price paid.
- Your total saving for the period, shown as a real amount, not just a percentage.
Where to find it
Right now, your invoices, statements and transaction history all live in your Radius Velocity account, not the PostTag app. In-app statements are coming to the PostTag app by November 2026.
If you can't log in to see them, you'll need to have completed the activation step from the email Radius sent when your card was approved (see "Activating your PostTag Fuel Card" above). Can't find that email? Request a new one and we'll get it resent.
If something looks wrong
If a transaction on your statement doesn't look right, contact us with the date, location and amount, and we'll look into it. We'd rather you flag it than let it sit.
My PostTag Fuel Card is lost or stolen
If your card never arrived in the first place, see "Card delivery" under Applying for a PostTag Fuel Card above instead.
Tell us straight away so we can stop anyone else using it. At the moment, the quickest way to do this is through your Radius Velocity account rather than the PostTag app.
Log in at velocityfleet.com using the Radius Velocity account you activated when your card was approved, then put a stop on your card and order a replacement. There's no fee for this.
Think your card's been used without your permission?
Treat it the same way: tell us straight away so we can look into it and protect your account, even if the card itself is still in your hand.
My PostTag Fuel Card was declined at the pump
A few things can cause this:
- The Radius account hasn't been activated yet. Check your email for the activation link from Radius.
- You haven't got your PIN yet. Most forecourts ask for it, so it's worth setting one up in your Radius Velocity account before your first fill-up.
- The forecourt isn't in the PostTag network. Check the map in the app before you stop.
If none of these explain it, contact us with the forecourt name and the time it happened, and we'll get to the bottom of it.
Managing your notifications and weekly price email
Push notifications
Turn these on to hear about fuel price drops near you and updates on your Fuel Card application, as they happen. Open Settings to switch them on.
Weekly fuel price email
Sent most Fridays, with prices for the week ahead, so you can decide whether to fill up now or wait. [CONFIRM: resubscribe deep link, mentioned but not yet supplied]
Changing your preferences
Go to Settings in the app to turn either of these on or off. You'll always be able to see exactly what you're signed up for.
Your data and your marketing choices
Your personal and payment data is handled in line with UK GDPR, and is only ever used to provide and manage your account. Marketing emails, including the weekly Friday pricing email, are opt-in and separate from essential account messages, in line with UK PECR rules, so turning them off never affects your account or your card.
Managing your PostTag account
Your PostTag account, your name, email and app preferences, is managed in Settings within the app.
Your Fuel Card is managed separately, through your Radius Velocity account, since Radius issues and administers the card itself.
Two accounts, two ways of signing in
Your PostTag account and your Radius Velocity account are separate logins, and they work differently. PostTag uses a one-time code sent to your email, so there's no password to manage. Radius Velocity uses a password, which you set when you activated your Fuel Card.
Changing your details
For your PostTag account, go to Settings in the app. For Fuel Card details that need to go through Radius, such as your business or bank details, get in touch with us for now and we'll put the request through.
Cancelling or pausing your PostTag Fuel Card
If you just want to stop using the Fuel Card rather than close your whole PostTag account, you don't need to delete anything.
To cancel, go to account settings in the app, or contact us directly and we'll handle it. Whether there's anything to pay depends on the terms you agreed to when you applied, so if you're not sure, ask us and we'll confirm what applies to your account.
To pause instead, check account settings first. If a pause option is available for your account type, you'll see it there. If not, get in touch and we'll talk through what's possible.
How do I delete my PostTag account?
PostTag and Radius are separate platforms, so closing one doesn't close the other. If you want everything shut down, you'll need to ask for both:
- To close your Fuel Card, contact Radius directly through their Contact Us page.
- To delete your PostTag account, contact us directly. Once it's deleted, you'll lose access to that login, and your saved addresses and other app data are removed with it.
